Yuni selects Thinfilm’s NFC solution to drive in-store sales

PKBR Staff Writer Published 06 June 2018

Yuni Beauty is using Thin Film Electronics' (Thinfilm) near field communication (NFC) mobile marketing solution to connect with consumers and drive in-store sales.

Yuni is engaged in providing all-natural, sustainable products for individuals on the go and support an active lifestyle.

Thinfilm's end-to-end option featuring NFC technology and cloud-based software will be used by Yuni to connect directly with its mobile-first consumer base.

With the solution, Yuni intends to deliver custom digital experiences to shoppers, and drive in-store conversions at the point of sale.

Yuni plans to make available smart Yuni products beginning in June 2018 at Nordstrom’s, Anthropologie, Bluemercury, Dillard’s, Navy Exchange, and other retail stores, as well as through Sephora.com and Amazon.com.

Yuni Beauty co-founder and CEO Emmanuel Rey said: “Yuni is very much a niche brand today, but the company – and our loyal customer base – is growing quite quickly.

“We needed a new way to connect with consumers on their terms, to tell the Yuni story and share our products. Thinfilm’s NFC solution fit our needs perfectly. ”

Thinfilm said that the NFC tags that are incorporated into Yuni product packaging will be fully integrated with Thinfilm’s CNECT Cloud Platform.

Consumers, upon tapping with a smartphone either in-store, on the go, or at home, can instantly launch unique digital experiences, including details on Yuni’s unique brand story and custom how-to videos providing product usage instructions and application tips.

Thinfilm CEO Davor Sutija said: “Yuni is an innovator in the active beauty market, and their focus on high-quality, all-natural products is resonating within the active-lifestyle demographic.

“We’re excited about the role our NFC mobile marketing solution will play in helping them strengthen customer relationships, increase sales, and take their business to the next level.”

The Thinfilm’s solution is initially planned to be used by Yuni to promote its Shower Sheets and Chillax products and to launch a new product called Yunicorn.
